What must you strengthen to Improve Posture?

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is an Anti-Aging LifeHabit to stay active as you age. Unrestricted, full range, pain-free motion is essential for an active and healthy lifestyle!
Chiropractic

Chiropractors are bio-mechanics, or mechanics for the body.

Doctors of chiropractic are licensed healthcare professionals trained to restore normal motion and relieve the pain of neuro-musculo-skeletal (nerve, muscle & joint) problems by freeing locked joints, restoring alignment and balancing body motion and function to reduce mechanical stress.

Pain, poor posture and unbalanced motion results in compensation which may temporarily relieve pain but stresses joints, muscles and ligaments.

Over time muscles and joints stiffen resulting in joint breakdown, arthritis, and chronic pain.  Even nerve function is lost as we become trained to "Move Old".

Chiropractors relieve the pain of musculo-skeletal (muscle & joint) problems by freeing locked joints, restoring alignment and balancing body motion to reduce mechanical stress.

In addition to treating patients for back and neck pain, many chiropractors promote improving body alignment and motion to relieve irritation of the nervous system.   The body is controlled by the nerves, so restoring normal nerve function may actually promote keeping a body functioning better and healthier.

What Is a Typical Chiropractic Treatment?

First,find the problem

Doctors of Chiropractic effectively treat headaches, neck problems, shoulder, elbow, and wrist problems. Hip, knee, ankle and foot conditions also respond well to conservative chiropractic manipulative therapy.  So, the first step is assessing your body to find the cause of your problem with a thorough examination including physical, orthopedic, neurological, and chiropractic tests. X-rays should be taken only if necessary.

Back Pain

Spinal injury may begin with one big trauma (such as an auto accident) or by the buildup of many small traumas (such as long term unbalanced posture from working on a computer, lifting, or other activity).

Restoring normal motion and allowing the body to first heal, and then move differently, is the most effective treatment.

Headache

Long term overload of the balancing muscles of the neck and back causes chronic tight muscles, as well as pulling against vertebra of the neck causing headaches, nerve irritation, and other painful stress related symptoms.

Chiropractic helps reduce and relieve stress caused by poor posture, continuous standing or sitting, or muscle tension from mental exertion.

Neck Pain

Long term overload of the balancing muscles of the neck and back causes chronic tight muscles, as well as pulling against vertebra of the neck causing nerve irritation, headaches, and other painful stress related symptoms.

If your neck and shoulders are constantly tight, chiropractic can help. Chiropractic helps reduce and relieve stress caused by poor posture, continuous standing or sitting, repetitive motion injuries, or muscle tension from mental exertion.

Whiplash

If you are involved in an auto accident you should be evaluated to determine if there is a soft tissue injury. Because the symptoms from a soft tissue injury may not show up until 3-7 days after the trauma, a thorough chiropractic examination is very important.

Pain changes how a body moves, therefore after the initial pain improves, the body may adapt to moving differently. Pain medication and muscle relaxers can mask the pain, but unless normal motion is restored, body motion will be unbalanced. Left untreated, the body adapts to the unbalanced pattern of motion, creating a chronic problem.  See NECK PAIN
